Bienvenue at Chateau Barayre

“This is a gem. The pictures are what you are going to find and seeing it for real is even better. Jaap and his family are all very friendly and welcoming and look after you if you need help and yet you have complete privacy in the tower part of the house if you happen to be here alone.

Everything you need is there. It is very quiet at night and you can see the stars. I would definitely like to come here again.”

The location of the chateau is spectacular, in a beautiful and fascinating region of France, offering a huge variety of local visits and days out, but if you want to just stay at the chateau and rest, then the pool is gorgeous and you could not wish for a more delightful garden to read a book in!

“We had an incredible time with Jaap & Rachna. We were with a large group of 11 people, including 7 teenagers, in the maison of the castle and everyone had a good time. The maison is spacious, clean and cosy. Enough sleeping space and bathrooms. The kitchen was cosy and the covered outdoor area is great for staying in until late in the evening. Lovely swimming pool overlooking the beautiful French countryside. Jaap & Rachna were very hospitable and gave good tips on what to do in the area. We really came to rest and are thinking of coming back again for sure!”

“Château Barayre is a unique place where we had the privilege to celebrate our wedding during a weekend with a hundred guests. Rachna and Jaap are an excellent team, combining smoothness, efficiency and positive energy. They never failed to find solutions to make our dream wedding come true.

The house and the castle were renovated this year to accommodate 26 guests, the barn was also restored and was perfect for dancing, and the swimming pool with a view of the little sheep in the neighboring field delighted family and friends on this hot weekend. Finally, we loved the garden with its majestic cedar tree which was enough to create a setting (and shade!) for our commitment ceremony.

We hiked through the surroundings, visited nearby local markets, and enjoyed the pool at the chateau.

The hosts, Jaap and Rachna, do their absolute best to make it an eco-friendly place and are full of tips for things to do. But the chateau is also just a really wonderful place to relax.”

The castle is breathtaking. We felt like we were in the 15th century with modern plumbing and electricity. The furniture and the whole atmosphere is perfect. Host Jaap and family are great. They treat you like old friends. Breakfast, dinner, wine, coffee, tips for events, sitting for 10 minutes in the morning just to chat. They are so friendly and welcoming. If you are thinking about staying in the countryside of France. You really won't find a better place or a more generous landlord.

We celebrated our wedding in early July at Château Barayre and it was fantastic. The place is magical, charming and poetic. We realised our dream wedding over a whole weekend. Jaap and Rachna, the owners, are very kind and attentive. If we had to do it all over again, we would not change a thing. We hope to return to spend a few days in this place that is so dear to us.
